Runchat requires Rhino 8 (Windows or Mac).

If you already have a Rhino 8 license

Download the latest version at rhino3d.com/download and make sure you're up to date.

If you don't have a Rhino 8 license

Rhino offers a free 90-day evaluation with full functionality — no credit card required.

1. Go to rhino3d.com/download
2. Select Rhino 8 for Windows or Rhino 8 for Mac
3. Click the Evaluation option
4. Create a Rhino account (or log in if you have one)
5. Download and run the installer
6. Launch Rhino and log in to activate your trial

Note: If you have an older version of Rhino (5, 6, or 7), you will still need Rhino 8 for this workshop. The 90-day evaluation works independently of any existing license.

2. Install the Runchat Plugin

1. Open Rhino 8
2. In the command line, type PackageManager and press Enter
3. In the search bar, search for Runchat
4. Click Install
5. Restart Rhino
